A little bit of exercise followed by a hot cup of coffee and a sweet apple cider doughnut. If this sounds like the perfect fall morning, sign up for the 5K Orchard Run ASAP. It’s held at Butler’s Orchard, so the race gives you a chance to explore its beautiful grounds and then meet back at the market to refuel.
The 5K Orchard Run returns to the local orchard for its 10th year on Saturday, November 12th under new leadership, the Montgomery County FCA. They’re keeping the longstanding tradition alive by not only putting on the fall 5K but also by contributing all of the proceeds to local charities. This year, a portion of your registration fee ($40+) will contribute to the mission of the Clarksburg Little Free Pantry and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. So register online, lace up your running shoes, and pull on your commemorative 5K Orchard Run athletic t-shirt. Then enjoy the varied run around Butler Orchard. You’ll trot along gravel roads, weave between flourishing trees, and even take a brief jaunt through a beautiful wooded area throughout the run.
